Our Paris trip had a very rocky
start. First of all our plane was
delayed from Dulles for 2 hours due to a minor windshield wiper repair.
Secondly, Katie accidentally left her ipod on the plane in the seatback pocket
(yes, the one she saved for all year!) so our first hour in the city was spent
attempting to contact the airline lost and found to see if it had been found.
Thirdly, this is the coldest I have ever been in all my life!
We knew the weather would be
inclement so we were prepared with lots of warm clothes; however, no amount of
clothing can prepare you for the cold that we felt! It was the kind of cold
that bites your skin, chills your bones, and takes your breath away!
On the up side, our driver (which
I had difficulty communicating with in the US) met us at the plane with no
problems and when we finally got to our apartment, it turned out to be a
spectacular place! It was situated in the most convenient location, just two
short blocks from the Lourve.
Although, our trip has had a rough
start, we are looking forward to seeing the sights of Paris! We will keep you
posted!
